Bart Adriaens

Bart's professional focus is on labour law, social security law and social criminal law, on which he has written extensively and spoken at numerous seminars. He is regarded as one of the leading lawyers in Belgium for actively assisting employers subject to extensive audit and investigation by the various labour inspectorates.

The 2021, 2022 and 2023 editions of Chambers and Partners mention Bart as "particularly strong on social security law matters and represents clients in investigations and employment audits." Last year, a market commentator also lauded: "He is excellent at cases against the public employment authority". In 2017 he was mentioned as follows: "Kortrijk-based partner Bart Adriaens focuses on social security law, with additional expertise in counselling clients subject to audits by the relevant authorities. With over 20 years of experience, he is also noted for his numerous publications and presentations at seminars on labour topics."

Bart began his career at the Brussels Bar and moved to the Kortrijk Bar in 1995, where he had the honour of giving the opening address to the Bar in 1996. He graduated from the University of Ghent (UGent) and is also a graduate in labour law, with a degree from the University of Brussels (ULB).
