Dieter practises employment law, labour law, social security law and criminal employment law. He has specialised in a number of sub-areas, including restructuring of companies (collective dismissal, closure and transfer of undertaking), working time, management contracts, privacy, discrimination and employment of foreign workers.

He has participated in numerous seminars and published several articles. Dieter is also a member of the editorial committee of the law magazine Sociaalrechtelijke Kronieken/Chroniques de droit social. Who’s Who Legal: Labour & Employment 2017 has Dieter listed amongst the 26 Belgian experts in Labour, Employment & Benefits Law. In 2018 he is mentioned as follows: Dieter Dejonghe is widely known as a top-notch employment and labour lawyer on both civil and criminal matters. His expertise includes restructuring, dismissal, contracts and discrimination matters.”

Dieter graduated in law from the University of Ghent and also has a degree in social law from the University of Brussels (ULB).
