Today, the revised Posted Workers Directive was published in the EU Official Journal. Member States still have until 30 July 2020 to adapt their legislation to the new secondment rules.

The Posted Workers Directive defines a set of core minimum working conditions applicable in the host member state which also apply to posted workers, even though their employment contract remains further governed by the posting state.

The Posted Workers Directive has been revised and in our newsflash of 22 June 2018 we have already set out the main key points of the revised Posted Workers Directive.

The revised Posted Workers Directive was signed on 28 June 2018  and was published today in the Official Journal. It will enter into force 20 days after publication but Member States will have until 30 July 2020 to adapt their legislation to the new secondment rules and to apply them.

In the transport sector, the current Posted Workers Directive will continue to apply until the sector-specific European legislation that is currently under negotiation comes into force.
