Nicholas Thoelen
Nicholas advises clients on a daily basis with respect to different aspects of labour and social security law. He assists clients with company transfers, the organisation of working hours, redundancy, controls by the social inspection, etc.
In particular, Nicholas has specialized in the transfer of undertakings, restructuring (collective redundancies and company closures), collective bargaining with unions, working regulations and the right of privacy in the company (data processing). He is a member of the International Practice Group dedicated to Discrimination within Ius Laboris.
Nicholas is a regular speaker at internal and external seminars and has worked on several legal publications. He is also the author of the textbook "Conventional transfer of undertakings" (2015).
Nicholas obtained his Master’s degree in law from the University of Antwerp in 1997 and also a special degree in labour law from the "Université Libre de Bruxelles" in 1998. He started as a lawyer at the Antwerp Bar in 1998 and is a member of the Hasselt Bar since 2007.
