Vera is specialized in corporate and commercial law. Amongst other things, she advises clients on the qualification, the remuneration and liability of directors and members of the management committee as well as drafting management agreements, share option and warrant plans, corporate governance charters and shareholders’ agreements, as well as all sorts of independent service agreements, such as commercial agent-, consultancy- and franchise agreements. She has extensive knowledge of the rules and procedures relating to the seizure of assets and of the law on non-profit organizations and lease agreements.
She assists clients in court and arbitration proceedings in these areas. You will also regularly find her as a speaker at seminars and as author or co-author of publications.
Vera graduated from the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U.Leuven) in 2001. In 2002 she obtained a Master of Laws in American Law (LL.M.) from Boston University School of Law in the United States. That same year she became a member of the Brussels Bar.
In 2006 Vera joined Claeys & Engels. In 2007 she obtained a Master in Corporate Law from the Catholic University of Brussels. In 2010, she worked for three months in London for Lewis Silkin, the English member of the international alliance Ius Laboris.
