Olivier specialises in labour law, social security law and also tax law. He deals in daily practice with issues concerning compensation and benefits, social and tax status of expatriates and legal status of company directors and top managers.

He advises national and multinational companies, in particular in all aspects of international private law, international social security law and international tax.

Olivier is Head of the firm’s Compensation & Benefits practice, including the tax practice. In the framework of this practice, he advises and works alongside companies concerning controls, ruling requests, steps towards the tax administration and tax procedure. He is also responsible for tax compliance practice, which consists in applying for the tax status for foreign executives, doing tax returns, performing tax calculations, implementing salary splits, etc.

Olivier regularly publishes articles and gives lectures on labour law, social security and tax law.  He is regularly interviewed on topical issues in the press, but also on radio and television. 

He is "highly recommended" in the Global Counsel Handbook "Labour and Employee Benefits" and is considered an "Eminent practitioner" in the last Chambers’ ranking, which outlines that "Olivier Debray is a long-standing partner based in the Brussels office. He is considered "a star" by market sources and "a very fine lawyer and a good person to work with and against." As head of the compensation and benefits team, his main focus is advising local and international clients on tax-related issues for companies and their senior employees."

Furthermore, Who’s Who Legal: Labour & Employment 2017 has Olivier listed amongst the Belgian experts in Labour, Employment & Benefits Law.

Olivier graduated from the University of Leuven (K.U.Leuven) and also has a degree in economic sciences from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL). He has been a member of the French Association of the Brussels Bar since October 1986.
