Amélie obtained a degree in Master of laws at the KULeuven in 2013 and started her internship as a lawyer at the Bar of Brussels.

She joined the team of Claeys & Engels as an associate in September 2014 and is a member of the Bar of West-Flanders (division Kortrijk).

She am active in the various branches of employment law (individual dismissal, manifestly unfair dismissal, discrimination, privacy, ...) as well as in social criminal law. She gives advice and does litigation.

Next to that, she assist, among other things, (i) care providers and care-providing agencies with inspections by the NIHDI and the further handling of the Chambers at the NIHDI and (ii) host families of au pairs who are confronted by an investigation by the Flemish social inspection service from questioning to (administrative) prosecution.

She also deals with occupational health cases (the civil and criminal proceedings that follow after a serious work accident). In this context she has followed the training "Evaluation Human Damage" at the KULeuven in 2021 and obtained the degree certificate.

Finally, she also frequently advises clients on data protection matters (GDPR). She obtained the certificate of Data Protection Officer at Howest Brugge in 2022.
