‘Single Permit’: federal approval law published on 24 December 2018

On 14 December, we informed you that the ‘Single Permit’ would probably enter into force on 1 January 2019, but that it was still awaiting publication of the federal approval law.  This federal approval law was published on 24 December 2018 in the Belgian State Gazette, so the new rules are now to be applied.

Remember: applications for work permits submitted before the entry into force of the new rules will still be processed under the old rules.

Take into account that, from now, new rules will apply to the employment of foreign employees in Flanders and that a new (but longer) procedure for obtaining a ‘Single Permit’ will have to be followed throughout Belgium.
