Termination of employment

Yesterday evening, the 7th of April 2011, the Chamber and the Senate voted and approved the draft law on the modification of the Act of 1 February 2011 on the extension of anti-crisis measures in execution of the inter-professional agreement, and to implement the mediation of the federal government with regard to the draft Interprofessional Agreement.

Amongst others, this means that the first effective step is taken towards a long awaited harmonisation between the treatment of blue-collar and white-collar workers. The new rules on dismissal will become applicable for all employees who are hired as of 1 January 2012.
