Last Thursday, 2 May, the Royal Decree fixing the maximum margin for the evolution of the remuneration cost for 2013-2014 was published in the Moniteur Belge/Belgisch Staatsblad, the Belgian Official Journal.

In conformity with the announcements that had been made (see our previous Newsflashes on this topic), this Royal Decree provides that the maximum margin for the evolution of the remuneration cost for 2013-2014 is fixed at 0%, remuneration indexation and possible remuneration scale increases excluded.

Consequently, agreements that would allow this margin to be exceeded are forbidden. Salary indexations and remuneration scale increases remain nevertheless authorized and are therefore not to be taken into account for the calculation of the remuneration margin.

The Decree came into force upon its publication.

We have to this point no knowledge of other modifications in this matter. Of course, we will keep you informed of any evolution in this matter.
